About

I'm Brittany, a 20-something married lady with a two year old diva baby and a dashingly handsome hubster.

I'm the goofy one. He's the handsome one.

The twee little one.

We just bought our first home together.

Thar she blows.
Now I enjoy chronicling all of our projects and DIY assaults on the walls of our home on this here blog.

In my early 20s, I was pegged the future "career" woman. Or maybe "cat lady," I'm not sure. I was as far from domesticated as I could get and had no desire to learn to cook, clean anything (ever), have children, or get married.

I wish I had a crystal ball because I got pregnant with Peyton at 24, married at 27, love baking and cooking, and have an affinity for all things crochet, fabric, general craftiness, and home decor. Weird how things turn out, huh? (For the record, husband is still working with me on that whole cleaning and organizing thing...I say I am too busy making cool stuff). It's funny because what I thought I wanted 10 years ago and what I have right now are so completely different, but I've never been happier. I still harbor my love for cats, but Denny is allergic to them and we would probably get divorced if I ever brought one home.

You might be wondering to yourself, 'Self, WTF is this "Whimsy Renee?" This is the most ridiculous blog name I've ever heard.' You see, friends, I also run an Etsy shop of the same name. You can check that out here. I chose "Whimsy" because my style was fun yet soft and feminine, and a little quirky, too. "Renee" came into play because it's a family name that four people in my family share in some way (me and the kiddo included).

Check back often as I archive the goings-on in our lives, the progress on turning our house into a home, and other fun happenings.

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I totally was the farthest thing from domestic. I tell my family about some of the things I do and they look at me like "WHO ARE YOU?!" I'm finding out now that life with a husband and mini-me and the house is actually a pretty sweet way to live :)
